About "The FRICTIONATOR"

The Frictionator is based in Fort Lauderdale, FL and is driven by Joe Arnold (AKA Uncle Joe). The truck is based on a Ford F650 Supertruck and currently sports a GE J85 jet engine producing some 7,000 hp. The construction of the truck under its current configuration took some 580 man hours to complete and entails extensive modifications including:

Custom jet engine management system

Emergency shut down remote controls

Custom Fabricated mounting system for Jet engine

Advanced electrical 36 volt battery system

Advanced fuel systems for jet engine and after burner

Custom center console controls for Jet engine

Our goal is to provide 100% safety for everyone involved.

Saftey Features:

Unlike all jet exhibition vehicles The Frictionator is powered by a conventional engine in the front
and is a daily driven truck on our roads and highways. This feature alows for exact manuverability when doing a show.
Including switching to reverse to avoid an early shut down for safety concerns. "The audience will never be jet washed or smoked"


The Show
Fire, Noise, and Smoke with any combination of the three.
Just jet noise only, or noise and fire, or noise, smoke and fire.
We can accommodate all of your concerns.


Remote wireless shut down:
At anytime as your safety crew see's necessary can remotely terminate the truck.
When shut down is activated several things happen
A solenoid purges the high presure fuel back to the tank which kills the jet engine instantly.
Also both electric pumps are powered off, and both fuel lines are terminated by a solenoid.
and the strobe lights are terminated to indicate a shut down.


Dust and Debris:
Dust and Debris is at minimal because of the location of the jet engine.
At 6 feet above the ground with an upward angle, and surrounded on 3 sides in the bed of the truck.
Dust and debris is minimal, and is less than any other exhibitionist.


Driver Saftey:
The Driver Joe Arnold, owner / operator performs with safety first
"at all times".
Fire suit, helmet, Seat belts, and full fire suppression system.
